Well I am in big time debt, and I am in a debt repayment program, with someone very nice helping me pay it back. With out this person I would be bankrupt. But aside from that, I was reading the Crosswalk devotion on Give us our finances, by Osella Clabaugh, and that is me. I do not have enough money to pay my utitlies bills, nor my phone bill. I am trying so hard to get caught up. My bills are late, and it annoy's me alot.
I have prayed to the lord for that Truck load of blessings, but it does not come. People I know talk about how God has blessed them with the money to pay there bills, and they cannot figure out, how they did it.
And others have said that people have just sent them money, when they were in trouble and there was no name, but said from Santa, Well that does not happen to me its just struggle, struggle, and not relief.
No matter how much I try to get a head, forget it. Now my frezzer is empty, and my cupboard are just about like that too. And all I do is keep praying to the Lord for that truck load of blessings that never seems to come. Yes I have had a parttime job that helped a bit, but well, the person I was working for moved, so now that is over. And of course I have to worry about the IRS I have a full time job and cannot work very many hours part time.
I just keep wondering when God is going to give me that truck load, so I can get on my feet and out of debt, and have money to pay my bills on time.

So what is your question?

From what you posted there is nothing any one here on CW can assist you with. If you have a specific question or request for information there are many that will gladdly help.

Have you checked out Dave Ramsey's site at www.daveramsey.com or Crown Financial Ministries at www.crown.org? Both are worthwhile.

Otherwise, as BlueAdept says, if you have some specific questions, we will help as best we can.

Does your church have a pantry where they help people in need? If not, maybe you can still share with someone your need and see if they can help. I also agree with the other post about Dave Ramsey and Crown. I am taking a Dave Ramsey course at our church on Wed. nights and it has great information on how to get your finances in order. I wish I had this info when I was first married, but looking forward to pressing forward on the right financial path.

i know it is frustrating. i am working my way out of a debt position, little by little.

but it is wrong to think that you are gonna come across a nickel for every prayer. God does not work that way.

I am not trying to lecture you, just to help you stay on track with your faith.

The Bible's views on debt have always been in your Bible. Proverbs 22:7 says that the borrower is slave to the lender.

God led the Israelites out of Egypt, but on their way to the promised land, they were not satisfied with the life, and what they had to eat - some lousy bread made from manna each day day after day. So, a lot of them, despite being led out of slavery and given a promise by a God who demonstrated impressive miracles right in front of them, a lot of those people wanted to go back into slavery.

You are working out of slavery. It will be a struggle. You won't go straight into the promised land right away. You will have a journey.

In the past, as you signed up for these credit cards and bought things on credit, you were ignoring God, but He was there and His Bible was there, and Proverbs 22:7 was there. He is still there, but now you are working on walking with Him more surely.

He may be waiting and trying to help you in various ways. Getting you out of that p/t job may have been opening a door for another, better p/t job. We just don't know. We don't know what the next day i nthe desert looks like. We don't know how many days we will have to gather and grind manna til we get milk and honey.

But keep your faith, and keep your eyes open. Appreciate this lesson about debt. Ask at your church for help. If you have kids, figure out their needs and ask for help with those.

I have prayed for you!

I'm not sure I believe any of those stories about strangers sending people money. Usually because they're attached to something that wants me to pray for strangers to send me money.

God never promised to bail us out of every situation we get ourselves into. God never promised that we would be wealthy. God never promised that our lives would be easy even. But He does say we are to be good stewards of what we are given, and racking up debt and not paying bills are not being good stewards. You can get out of debt, but you will probably have to work hard to do it and that's okay. It probably won't happen overnight, but if you are persistent it will happen.

You have a full time plus intermittent part-time jobs and you still can't meet your financial commitments. What did you do to get yourself so deep into debt?

You don't have to answer why you got into debt. I don't think that's anybody's business except between you and God. People make mistakes and whats done is done and you need to move on.

Anyway, since you are working full time you need to speak again to your debt payment company .

You ALWAYS pay your housing first then food then transportation (if applicable) then debt. You may want to have a 3rd party look over your budget to see what the problem is.. and then have them modify your debt repayment plan. If your housing is too high then you'll never get ahead.

They'll work with you because they would rather get something than nothing.

First, you need to identify how you got into this mess. Second, you need to identify changes you need to make in your life so this doesn't get any worse or repeat itself. Finally, you need to identify how your going to get out of the mess you got yourself into. <IXOYE><

Wow. Well, I can speak from experience. After I was divorced, I found myself with more debt than I could handle, and by making the minimum payments, I didn't have enough left over so I ended up using the credit cards for gas and food. Before I knew it, I had a mountain of debt.

I used a debt management agency and that has helped ALOT. I paid back all of my debts in full and didn't have to file for bankruptcy. I think that you need to look into a debt management agency and see if they can help you. And someone else suggested that you might have a pantry at church or in the neighborhood that for now you can get food at.

But you need to do something NOW. You can use a debt management agency and someone mentioned two that are reputible. There is also Consumer Credit Counseling and Take Charge America. Just make sure that they are non profit so that they don't charge you a bunch of money just to use them. You should pay nothing or 50.00 a month and no more.

While you are going through that process, you can call the people you owe money too and make arrangements directly with them.

Nobody is going to just give you money. God helps us out in many different ways. Sometimes we are blessed with an unexpected something, and sometimes it is just some helpful advice. I know you got some pretty helpful advice from a few people here so you should probably start with that.

God has used me to send strangers money. Some of those stories you hear are very much true. I know many Christians who do this on a regular basis.

Yep, looks like another one post wonder. Most likely doesn't even know how to, or remember where she posted this message, to get back to this forum. <IXOYE><

Yeah with rudeness like that, I wonder why more people don't ask for help.
