This poll/thread is only to discuss which party benefited more by having its convention first or second. There are other threads to discuss the content of the conventions themselves.

I think it benefited the GOP more by having their convention after the DNC - in my mind, the RNC was more of a "response".

The RNC showed some major differences in style between the two parties, especially in the last night. Juan did well to not have the pomp and spectacle of the huge stadium, and was still able to get his message out to the country.

And they were able to show it could all get done even with the abbreviated first night.

They were able to clearly show the stark contrast between the two parties and the two teams. Not only having the convention last but the way they handled the Palin announcement was simply brilliant politics and they definitely put on the more effective convention - whether people who needed to watch it actually did, though, I'm not sure.
