After December 5th.
That is my eldest child's birthday and I made a promise to him when he was little that Christmas would ALWAYS come after his birthday in our home. I didn't make that promise to my youngest child. Her birthday is a week before Christmas.

Outside decorations-- probably this weekend since the weather is nice. I'm in the midwest so when the weather is nice outside just go ahead and do it. Actually, there were quite a few homes already decorated outside last weekend since it was in the 60's since we never know if snow will be a forecast sooner.
Indoors- Thanksgiving weekend.

My rule used to be after the Thanksgiving holiday. But when we are not celebrating here (and going away) then I break my rule and start a little earlier just because it is such a big job. That way when we return from the holiday, we're ready to go (as in turn on the lights and have the house decorated).

I'm a bit of a scrooge.. the tree and the decorations go up around or after the 15 of december.. then they come down the day after new years. Most years we just can't afford the bruhaha that comes with this holiday and find it depressing, so we pretty much just do it for the kids.

I used to do it the day after Thanksgiving, but for the last few years I've been a bit late, so it didn't usually get done until a few weeks before Christmas. Hopefully this year I'll do it a little bit earlier.

The day after Thanksgiving, or that Saturday. Last year we didn't do any decorations because we were out of town, this year we will be home so I'll do all the decorations.

We put up decorations and the tree around the first day of December or a couple days after it.

I start putting them up either Thanksgiving day or the day after and try to finish sometime by the end of the weekend.

Our neighbors put up their outdoor lights today AND had them lit! Just a bit too much for me!

I put up the tree about two weeks before christmas. I dont like to take away my dog's window.

We do ours the first week of December. I lug all the stuff in the house the week of and that first weekend I'm putting stuff out.

It's already snowed here... multiple times.
My MIL has her's put up ASAP because she hires someone to come do it and she likes to get her monies worth

I put them up sometime before Christmas but after Thanksgiving. Since I'll be alone on Thanksgiving this year, I may put them up then.

I'm usually better about putting up decorations in my office than I am at home.
The last few years I've helped my mom put up the decorations at my parents' home. I love getting out the ornaments that I have been familiar with for years. But my favorite part is setting up the olive wood Nativity set that Mom's parents brought back from the holy land many years ago. I think we've had it most of my lifetime.
