Mine is this lovely little used book store - the Birchbark Bookstore. Their main store is a few towns over, and they have a 'branch' up over the hardware store downtown. They have such a wide variety of used books, and everything's so inexpensive, and I just love going there. I never know what I'll find.

My favorite book store is a local one called Redeemed. It is a used book store, but I always find the best books there! (And they're cheap!)

The Baptist Bookstore and Books-A-Million.

I could browse around both for hours.

I reserve most of the books I read from the library, but to answer this question, I would have to say Family Christian Bookstore.

Half Price Books, especially in a college town.

They have a Clearance section I love. Can't beat $1-2.

I haven't purchased a new book in years.

I go to used book stores, and there are dozens of them in NYC. Many publishing houses have remaindered stores. The universities have used sections in their bookstores. I have a few special street vendors that sell books.

Favorites:
Strand Books
Antiquarian Book Arcade
Gryphon Book Store
Rizzoli's
Gotham Book Mart

I like Barnes & Noble better than Books a Million but there isn't one here. As far as purchasing books go I prefer the thrift stores and used book stores.

For some reason, I just love this little Catholic bookstore, called Ave Maria.

I am not Catholic, but for some reason I can't wipe the smile off my face when I am in this store.

In addition to some neat books on the healing ministries of Francis McNutt, I bought a cross with Isaiah 53 engraved on it, and when I needed a visual reminder about the spiritual war we are in, I bought a figurine of the Archangel Michael triumphing over the enemy.

Amazon.com...but also this massive used books store down the street from me where I can find hard-to-find volumes and even no-longer-published paperbacks.

My other favorite "bookstore" is the public library just down the street...they have most of the books I want, I don't have to buy them, and they clutter their own shelves with the books after I've read them.

Thrift stores...I simply can't afford to pay $10+ for one book these days.

Another reason I like libraries.

The problem for me is that I like to keep the books I read and like so I can read them again, and libraries frown on that. I don't know why! LOL!

When you discover that you can find most of the books from the best selling lists for less than a $1 it is very hard to pay retail.

Currently, Barnes&Noble, no question. Because they have a....train table! Lets one of us browse while the other one watches Josh play. It is the one store we are ALWAYS ready to leave before the 2 year old!
