I wish that I had been more attentive to my parents warnings about growing up. I did not realize how right they were until i got out on my own and had my own children that they knew what they were talking about. But with that I can say that I really did enjoy my childhood. Growing up in the 70's was fun and there are a lot of things that I got to experience and see that my kids will never get too. It was good clean fun, did not have to worry about the gangs and all the violence and drugs like today..

what I learned: 1. You will get caught when you hack on to your high school's server 2. High school love relationships are an absolute waste of time 3. don't be afraid to dish out a comeback when someone is joshin' ya (in other words, don't be afraid to accidentally offend)

I keep saying "if only I knew then what I know now." But in reality I'm not sure what it is that I'd have applied back then, even if I thought I knew it. And I'm in my early 50's, so there HAS to be something!

What I wish I knew then was that people spend more time thinking about themselves than they do thinking about me. If I had known that, I would have been a little less self-conscious and less afraid of what other people think of me.

Don't make excuses for others, some people really do mean the stupid things they do.
