Status: offline 		This is a tough one for me. As a Mets fan I'm obligated to hate the Yankees. However, I have an intense dislike for the Phillies, too. I may have to root for the umpires, they certainly need it.

Why? Always hated the yankees, it was soooooo boring in the '90s when they were alway in post season! Also it seems to me that everyone is always rooting for the Yanks, like if you're "cool" you root for the yankees... at least that's how is is in my area...

Don't get me wrong, I really respect the yankees amazing history (I loved reading Lou Gehrig bio-Luckiest Man). I think Derek Jeter & Mariano Rivera are awesome, I've got nothing against most of their players lol...

But it's kinda become tradition for me to root against the yanks and I really do love the phillies this year- Raul Ibanez played for my favorite team and since then I've rooted for him and what ever team he's playing on. Other reasons too....

Status: online 		Ah such a GREAT game last night.

I especially liked the "Who's Your Daddy" chant.

That pitcher (forgot his name)...I couldn't believe his quoting that he was the most influential player to ever enter Yankee stadium. He totally deserved the "Who's Your Daddy" chant, IMO.

It's going to be a good series. I hope the Yankees win, but the Phillies seem to be playing well. That always makes for great baseball.

Status: offline 		Phillies!! I am really tired of the Yankees fans who do not live and who never lived in NY, it's just like Dallas Cowboy fans who never lived in Dallas - - - Frauds and Front Runners. I live in Philly and root for my teams! That is except for the Eagles but that's another story.

Status: offline 		Well, I was born in New York, and my extended family still lives there, so when I go "home" for a family reunion, New York is where I go. Does that count?

If it's a NL game, then I'd cheer for the Braves, since that's where I live now, but I've moved so much in my life, I would hate to only cheer for the city I'm currently in.

Status: online 		Interest in the Phillies and World Series has waned a bit here in Philadelphia, at least in Center City where I live. We've been gobsmacked by a surprise transit strike. The hot topic of conversation has moved away from baseball to discussions of how people are getting to work or school. Not that we don't still want the Phillies to win, but many of us have more immediate concerns.

I wish they would start the games earlier for you guys on the East Coast. It must stink to have to wait until 8:00 or so for the game to start. There aren't a whole lotta of us watching here on the west coast, that I know of.

I don't mind the eight o'clock start. It gives us time to get home from work, have dinner and clean up, before the game.

I guess I am just not cool because I still don't understand the whole "whose your daddy" thing. I know Pedro Martinez said the yankees are my daddy, but what in the world does that mean anyway? Like I said, hopeless uncool.
