Hello everyone,

I am a 35 year old man who recently got married. My marriage is great and my wife is wonderful, but we are having trouble in the bedroom. Mostly, this trouble is related to some e.d. on my part. We've been to the doctor, discovered that I have low testosterone, and we have discussed it in great length. I am going to a counselor this week, as I have been dealing with the psychological reprecussions of this. I had a wild past until age 31, when I completely turned my life over to Christ. Have any of the men out there ever been through something like this? My wife is upset every time there is a failure on my part, and feels rejected. Please someone, help me.

Moving this from Prayer and Praise to Men Only, as the OP wants advice.

Oh, my bad. I didn't see this particular forum. Also, what does "op" mean?

"OP" is the "Original Poster" or the starter of the thread.

As men age their bodies output of testosterone drops. It usually happens to men about age 50 or so, but there are variables to everything and to hear of it happening at age 35 is possible. There is a patch much like the nicotine patch that is worn daily and puts an added small amount of the hormone into your body to replace what you are missing. Then again there are the meds like Viagra and such that can help overcome ED. You and your medical doctor should discuss the options.

Then again, based on your age and what you say of your past it is possible that there might be psychological reasons behind this. You and a councilor or therapist can explore that, and you might consider including your wife in those sessions, for her getting upset then upsets you and that sort of thinking snowballs and gets y'all nowhere.

I too had a somewhat "wild" past until I was saved back in '95. Yes, my outlook on sex in general and sex with my bride of 18 years at that time did change some. But bear in mind that there is nothing wrong with sex and that there is no "Godly" way of doing it with the exception that it be mutually beneficial to both partners and kept within the marriage covenant. It's been a long journey for me since being a new born Christian.

Did the doctor give any advice about how to improve the testosterone levels? One non-prescription method of increasing testosterone is exercize. Also are you taking any medications that could have side effects?
