Name movies that had bad endings. I just saw "Derailed" and I did not like how it ended.

'Open Water.' Didn't like the ending much. Somewhat of a letdown.

Stephen King's "IT". You've got to be kidding me... a godzilla alien- type spider was Pennywise luring children to their deaths every 30 years? Was his publisher pushing him too hard to complete his manuscript?

Open Water was a true story. Well, inspired by...considering they never found the poor couple. I remember when it was released being so angry that they were exploiting that couple's deaths for a quick buck. I guess I have the same anger for other films of the same ilk, such as The Perfect Storm or Wolf Creek. I agree with Stephen King's It. The first half was great, second half was terrible.

I can't believe the Blair Witch Project hasn't been mentioned. Seriously. You spend over an hour watching them running and screaming in the woods.... just for the ending to be equally as lame? I guess the creepy factor makes up for it, but still. The Fly - the ending is so ridiculously abrupt, you don't get a chance to grasp what just took place. Spiderman III - self explanatory. Dead Man's Chest - not so much the ending, but the pre-ending where Elizabeth traps Sparrow on the Pearl, or rather, kisses him to his eventual death on the Pearl. It was so odd and out of place, not to mention how Will must have felt. There's more, but I'm too tired to remember them.

There are a few, but the first that comes to mind is Saving Private Ryan. It's one of my favorite war movies, but it just upset me that all but one in the group that went searching for him died. I was hoping that some more of them would have lived. I was also upset with the released ending of I am Legend. I know some posted alternate endings on here awhile back with a synopsis about it. I never watched it, but I did read about it. I'm not sure if I would have liked it either. I would also add Cloverfield. Actually, it was pretty much the entire movie and especially the ending.

Awake-I wish they had added more to the movie instead of just ending it like they did.

The Mist is possibly the worst ending in the history of bad endings. The Village was terrible. Ending stolen from a Scooby Doo episode. Pretty in Pink. On what planet is Blaine better than Duckie. Vanilla Sky. Cameron we expected so much more. It was a remake though. I have no idea what you people are talking about with No Country for Old Men, Blair Witch, The Fly, Fight Club and Open Water. NCFOM is simply a masterpiece from start to finish. Period and if you don't believe me see the academy awards and virtually every critics top ten list that year. Blair Witch is a classic. Possibly the most influential film of the last 20 years. The Fly (original or Cronenberg?) either way very well regarded. Fight Club usually listed in best movie twist lists. Open Water? It was a true story! I guess talk to God about that one....

I really liked both No Country For Old Men and Cloverfield's endings. I think that I am Legend was awful in it's ending. . . both versions. The Village, along with just about every other M. Night's movies have terrible endings. . . and beginnings and middles. The Last Samurai ticked me off a little. How in the world was he still suppose to even be alive?

ORIGINAL: angie4God The Mist There's this other one that I can never remember the name. One of these spy espionage kind of movies where they go all over the place chasing after this metallic briefcase and....(highlight spoilers below)... Highlight --->WE NEVER FIND OUT WHAT'S INSIDE !!! It was a great action packed edge of your seat movie but the ending spoiled it for me. That would be Ronin with Robert Deniro. You would be right in it being a letdown that we never found out what they were after in that case. If they revealed it, I missed it also. The only thing that even hints what's inside the briefcase in Ronin is perhaps vital documents or information, made to disrupt the peace agreements between Northern Ireland's long-warring Protestant vs. Catholic factions. Why the Russians will even bothered to obtain the case is still beyond me, but I recalled in the audio commentary of Ronin that John Frankenheimer describes the briefcase as being a Maguffin (sp?), an Alfred Hitchcock concept where the audience is being distracted by a central object or even person, all the while not keeping track of the real story. In Ronin's case, it's DeNiro still active in the intelligence service (in the climatic skating rink part, telling Natasha Mchelhone that he never left his government agent job), doing what appears to be deep cover work to infiltrate Jonathan Pryce's, rogue IRA operative. That's my theory in a nutshell. Besides, I don't think there ever was anything important inside the case: it's just a piece of bait to lure Pryce out of hiding.

The second Pirates of the Caribbean movie had an awful ending - it felt like you'd stopped the movie halfway through. There was no conclusion at all, NOTHING got wrapped up. It wasn't an ending! The ending of Prime was disappointing.

The ending was very disturbing, but to me, that doesn't make it a bad one. I guess to some the ending of Casablanca is a bad ending. It's interesting to see what people like and dislike.

How in the world was he still suppose to even be alive? I just saw a great (older) movie by M. Night called, "Wide Awake." I highly recommend it! Here's a brief synopsis, from wikipedia: The film revolves around the themes of family, growing up, and finding truth. The story is told through the eyes of ten year old Joshua Beal (Joseph Cross) who is searching for answers after the death of his beloved grandfather (Robert Loggia). Josh is a fifth grader at Waldron Mercy Academy, a private Catholic boys school (where Shyamalan attended and where much of the movie is filmed). The adults in his world have not been able to convince him that his grandfather is in good hands, so he sets out on a personal mission to find God. I DID like the ending to this movie... check it out!
