Are there any guys (21 and up) with either a physical or metal disability that prevents them from working? Or do you know of a guy (21 and up) with any of those issues that prevents them from working?

Especially guys that were born with a mental or physical diability?

Please be kind when responding to this post. :) as Jesus said, John 13:34-35
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples , if you have love for one another." NKJV

God Bless All :)

Hello Teaching,
I was not born with my disabilities, but I have them. I'm a 44 year old man with a bad heart, diabetes, high blood pressure, a left leg amputation and clinical depression.
The blood pressure and the diabetes aren't a real problem, but the bad heart and the amputation limit my physical activity. The Clinical depression is limiting but in ways that are too difficult to explain.
I am currently living on full SSDI and looking for a part-time job which will work with my limitations in order to supplement my disability income.

May I ask why you posted the question?

Hello Pauley
Thanks for replying. :)
I too am recieving full Disability from the Federal Gov. I have a 10 page report on my disability from a Federal Judge as well. I have SEVERE ADHD (Attention Difficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and severe fatigue problems and other things that are related to the brain that I would be embrassed to mention.

I started this thread to see if there are other "Serious Christian Guys" like me out there in the Christian Communities. So that I can find a Friend, (A Brother in Jesus Christ) that has to deal with the down falls of disability on a daily bases.

My name is Darryl and no matter how hard I have tried, and no matter what I did, me and jobs just do not get along. I love delivery driving, but my severe fatigue and slow response abilities cause me to have a car wreck when I use to do courier (Delivery) work.

Even trying a internet based business out of the home, I failed at that to. And I have a hard time understanding and reading books.

EXCEPT when it comes to the Bible, and (My Bible Library) I have no problem with it at all. And my ministry, website http://www.teachingtheway.net, and Teaching and helping in Chat rooms and forums I have not problems at all with that either. I always succede. My Ministry is international, (I am the only worker) in it.

I failed at everything else in my life except ministry. It is a Miracle of God for sure that I am able to do Ministry. GLORY to God. But it does not put food on the table, and still have the male pride about taking care of my wife and 4 kids (16yrs to 22yrs) old.

Thats just a brief of why I did this topic. :) God Bless Friend. Do you have problems with the male pride thing too?

I definitely have problems with male pride. I used to work two and sometimes three jobs at a time. But when my health went south on me, I suddenly was faced with doing nothing with my time. It's been that way for over 2 years now and I still wake up at 4 a.m. automatically, as if I have someplace to go and something to do.
I went from earning my keep to having it handed to me for no other reason than I'm unable to do the work anymore. I understand that a person's identity has nothing with their occupation, but it is hard to swallow your identity having everything to do with your relationship with Christ when you've been a wage earner all of your life. It's even harder when you take into account the fact that scriptures command men to earn their living and support their families.
It is also complicated by the fact that curious (Yet well meaning) people begin to give you the third degree about "Well, can't you do this?" or "Can't you do that?" and "Why don't you do something else?" There is no end of people who think they know what they're talking about when they obviously don't.
It is also damaging to my male ego when I think about the fact that even if God does bless me with a wife and children, I will never be able to be the primary bread winner like I feel I ought to be.

You have been blessed with a successful ministry. Maybe you should concentrate on that and allow your wife to be the primary bread winner, because maybe the Lord has set it up that way for a reason. You are doing a greater work, for God's Glory. A job would only cut into the time you spend on your calling to reach people over the internet. A job would also be something that would glorify you, and right now you are being lesser so that He can be greater.

Not everybodies lives end up the way they wish them to be. But they always end up the way God wants them to be, if they allow Him to be their guide. Perhaps you are where God wants you to be right now.

Thanks for the encouragement!
My talents and abilitiies seem to be in ministry more than any thing else by Gods grace. I went to many different chat rooms and forums spreading the gospel and helping others, such as the following; muslim, debaters, witches, satanist,Christian, and so on. (Telling them about Jesus) by Gods Grace and Mercy on this unworthy soul.

One thing I do need to remember is that Jesus gave up his carpenter Job, Disciples gave up their careers and jobs, and so did Paul as well in order serve full time in the service of Jesus Christ.

Paul said he went hungry, sleepless nights, and so on as well for the service of Jesus Christ. He has been beaten many times, ship wrecks, caused city riots and so on as well. All of this in the Service of Jesus Christ. WOW I am so impressed by that!

My wife has watched me in chat rooms and forums many times and in chat rooms with-in 5 minutes people comes to me with help and questions etc. It is the light of Jesus in me that seems to attract people to me.

I go to my wifes Job to take her to lunch or pick her up, and may of her coworkers and even customers has said that me and my wife are different and we attract people even in public too.

GLORY TO GOD! We sure do not deserve Gods love, grace and mercy, but yet God has chosen us to be his servants. My wife also has spread the gospel in chat rooms and forums as well.

We have several persecuted and hated because of the name sake of Jesus Christ too. Truth is not well accepted. We are hated even by our own unsaved parents, brothers/sisters,aunts and uncles too.

But as Paul as did, we walk away rejoicing because we are counted worthy to suffer for the name sake of Jesus Christ.

GLORY TO GOD FOREVER MORE! :)
