That's awful! Why do people do such things...or get involved with people like that? The poor woman probably had no idea of what she was getting into. The perps deserve the death penalty!
Her family will need prayers.

Yep they desreve the death penalty. No idea what she was getting into??? Doubt that. It's the Klan for crying out loud. Her ignorance was to associate with them period.
Sorry for the loss of life but ya just need to avoid some folks.
Evil is alive and well with or without the Klan.

This is from the local paper.
"What was odd about this was the extent they went to cover it up," Strain said. "To the degree they scrubbed the area was pretty impressive for a group with such a small IQ."
Strain said the crime was discovered after two people went into the Circle K store on Louisiana Highway 21 near Bogalusa about 4 a.m. Monday and asked how to get blood out of clothing. The clerk called the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, and that department initiated an investigation.

This happened in my neck o' the woods. I was raised in the next parish over. While there are many intelligent, educated, law-abiding citizens there, there is still a lot of overt bigotry.
I know the area. I'm saddened, but not at all surprised. This is the state Where David Duke, ran for governer in 1991. He received 38% of the vote, but 55% of the white vote. African-Americans are still treated as and act like second-class citizens. (Actually, they're not called African-Americans down there.)
I'm sad to say bigotry is alive and well there.

I lived out of state during that time. I was glad that I didn't have to choose between a crook and a kook. Southwest Louisiana is nothing like that area.

Here's the most troubling thing I found reading the article...
But the sheriff said the public shouldn't feel endangered.
"I can't imagine anyone feeling endangered or at risk by any one of these kooks," Strain said.

She knew she was joing up with the Klan so what in the world did she expect to happen? Granted, maybe not her own death was a given, but the possibility had to have crossed her mind.

It does give pause to wonder if law enforcement doesn't think the crime was a big deal(?) or if the criminals are actually that stupid. Does "public" mean all folks or just residents?
Granted the perps may be morons to the nth degree but they proved themselves willing and able to kill. That makes them a danger to everyone.

I don't know..but I know if I chose to hung out with a group of people known for acts of evil and hatred I would be giving much thought to possibly being in danger myself. Wouldn't you?

There have been hundreds murdered in New Orleans after Katrina and about 95% was gang related.

The alleged shooter is being charged with second degree murder. Do you think that fits the crime?
