Last night I heard somebody say that Jesus did not have the human nature, or in other words, the temptation to sin was not in Him. We all know that Jesus was tempted by satan, but what about this? They seemed to think that temptation stayed outside of Jesus, and was not in Him, like it is in other people. That this was part of being sinless.

What do you think?

Jesus could not have sinned. To sin is to transgress God's law, and separate yourself from Him. Jesus is God. He cannot transgress His own law.

He was tempted by Satan, but was not tempted to do what Satan was suggesting.

Unlike us, He does not have a sin nature.

If I remember correctly, Christ was tempted not only to deny the sin, but more importanly to demonstrate through him we can overcome it and as a sign to show that he suffered the same things we do including pain (the cross), heartache (the death of his human dad Joseph), and temptation.

Ultimaltey he suffered the things we suffer. I feel this demonstrates such an absolute passionate love that God has for us.

when I think of Jesus and the human nature, this verse comes to mind:
Php 2:6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Php 2:7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
Php 2:8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Sounds like a choice was made.

When Adam was created, he had no sin nature, that didn't come until he ate from the tree. As a result of that, everyone after Adam was born into sin, .... because of one man's sin.............Rom 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned--

until Christ - the begotten son had no sin nature, and in 1st cor is referred to as "the last Adam"
1st Cor 15:45 The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
and with that came the promise
Rom 5:15 But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.

Heb 2:17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
Heb 2:18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

I think whoever said "Jesus had no human nature" really meant that He had no sin nature.

there was no sin in Jesus.

Christ was fully man in that He used the term Son of Man in much the same way as He used the term Son of God. The problem with His temptation if it could be called that for if it were temptation then there would have to have been some real possibility of His having been actually tempted, but God can not be tempted in that what satan was offering was firstly not this to give and secondly Chirst's already or His for the taking. It is much the same with us, in the sense knowing what we know now, we would never have done some of the things we actually did do. Hence, Christ knowing all along what we now know was not likely to be tempted in such a flooish manner. satan may well have thought he was tempting Christ but his offers were laughable considering Christs own self understanding. I mean satan wanted Christ to wroship him when satan should worship Him. He offered christ what Christ had made.

With Christ although in the flesh very much a man, He did have something we lack a lot of the time and that is a very real knowlege of God.
