Am I wrong to want this WORLD to end.

Tired of watching starving children, etc.

Any verses?

From Matthew 25:

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

2 Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come...

Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Good verses, but I personally think John put it best;

(Rev 22:20) He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

And I wholeheartedly agree; Come quickly Lord Jesus!

Thanks
RC

One of the reasons why the rest of the world dislikes Christians is because of the attitude that this world is not worth anything. When Christians say - I can't wait to see all of this burn - how do you suppose that comes off to those who "we" presume will be here for the burning with front row seats.

Jesus came to give us life and to give it abundantly. Here. Now. This world is full of pain and sadness, no doubt about that. That should be the rally call for us to actually act like Christians and try to make a difference. I'm not talking about preaching, I'm talking about loving people, reaching out, being angry enough over injustice to try to make a change, loving peace, encouraging community.

turn off the tv (figuratively speaking) and go meet/serve your neighbors

serving outside of yourself sometimes helps with one's perspective

I don't think it's wrong -- They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. Revelation 22:4
But i am comforted knowing that GOD's Will be done.

“Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me;
nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

Luke 22: 42

Thank you Dbark for your comments.

Christians should not be in any hurry for Christ's return. He will do so in His own time.

Our job in the meantime is to be ready, (remember the parable of the seven maids and the oil lamps), and to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

But are we wrong to want Jesus to come back now?

He is here! Lk 17:20 Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, 21 nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

He told us have the authority, by Adoani's grace, that we gave over to Ha Satan in the garden. We just did had not taken that authority. We were not convinced by Ha Torah and the prophets.

Lu 16:16 "The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it."

Now, we have the record of the realization of the promise and should be building Adonai's kingdom according to His design.

Mt 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

So, let's stop feeling bad and act on those feelings.

Mt 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Gal 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

My Adonai say to us what He said to the Ephesians

Re 2:3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

I don't mean to be harsh, but we can't be spending too much time looking at all that is wrong with the world. We need to be building communities that influence the nations around us and in doing so hasten Yeshua's physical return.

Mr 13:36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.

No verses, just:

Stop watching, then, and start helping.

No, I do not want the world to end now. It may be selfish of me, but I want to enjoy a married life that so many before me has enjoyed.

Personally, I'm not anxious for my or the world demise but I'm ready! This breath might be my last and so it be, 'absent from this body, presence in the Spirit'.

I think its wrong for a person to want this world to end now because even though there is evil in the world, God made a beautiful place for us to live and im enjoying it. Of course i will be glad when Jesus comes again, but until then im going to live my life on Earth as happy as i can be and trusting in Gods will for the end to come.

I do help alot. But obvouisly no one can stop the starvation of 50,000 per day.

I want Jesus to come back for them to stop their suffering.

I don't think it is necessarily wrong for you to be impatient for Christs return but things have to happen before that occurs. Suffering for a multitude of reasons has to happen. Some people are dealt that card and others are held accountable for the suffering of others. While we are here we shouldn't worry about tomorrow but pray for those in need and serve those we can with His love.

God Bless!

I don't believe there's anything wrong at all with having those moments when we want to see all the suffering and evil and death of this fallen world end sooner rather than later. Paul tells us all of creation groans for this system to end and the new one to begin--

Romans 8:22
We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

Yes I do. But I also have the desire to get to my eternal home quickly.

Kind of like Jesus prayed (paraphrased of course), "This is what I desire, but Your will is what I really want."

God is loving enough to listen to me tell what I want, and wise enough to give me what's best for me.

Hey! That's a good signature idea!

I hear you armydude, I will not be sorry to leave this world, and it often seems that it can't get any more corrupt, but it gets worse every day. My husband echoes your sentiments daily. But I find comfort in knowing it hasn't ended because each day more get saved and His name is praised with more voices.
