A few years ago, we had a lot of home schooling families in our church. Most have put their children in P/S, while two families moved away.
Now there is just Nick and Jennifer, a 7th grade girl. Where we once had 'safety in numbers', we're now the 'odd ducks'.
Is home schooling well accepted in your congregation? Do you have a home school group within your church? Is the pastor pro home schooling?

We have a large congregation. I think we have around twenty. It used to be forty. I don't know what's happened.

We have three homeschool families. Our rabbi is for it which is a nice change compared to my former congregation where the rabbi was opposed to it.
No groups within the church, but it does seem to be accepted.

I think that our congregation is probably close to 800-1000 now. I think that there only about 4-5 families (including us) who homeschool. Our church has a Christian school (which my friend and her husband are administrators for) and they really strongly advertise for families to put there kids there. There are some who do put their kids in PS. I think that they pretty much leave us homeschoolers alone because they know that it's a conviction we have, even if they don't agree with it.

We have 3 hsing families. Use to have more, but they left when last preacher moved on.

We have 1 other family that is currently homeschooling. Another family that is starting to home school this year. There is also a family that is considering it and at least 3 families that did home school at one time.
For the most part the church is supportive of it. Although there are always those ones that want to ask every year...."so are you going to have your daughter go back to [a traditional] school?" I believe that they mean no harm. They just can't seem to get that we pulled her from a traditional school setting because that did not work for her. It makes no sense to send her back so that she can struggle again when she is doing well at home.
Our pastor teaches at a local Christian school but is very positive toward home schooling.
While we do not have a hs group or co-op with in our church, I found the co-op we are involved with through friends from church.

All but one, which makes a total of about 5, although one of those families now have their two oldest in christian high school, but still have their youngest two at home. However, we have about 8 to 10 college and career age kids who are home school graduates, as well as two young moms who are home school graduates, and they are planning to home school their kids. One of our home schooling dads was also home schooled himself, although he went to school for grades 11 and 12.
Some of our home schoolers also participate in PE and sports with a christian school near here.
The one family that does not home school has their kids in a small christian school, and they were home schooling until the mom got chronically ill.
Oh, I forgot, there is also a single mom who has her kids in christian school, but she is not a member and only comes off and on, so I forgot about her at first.

Yes, they accept it pretty well. I think there was a little bit of tension at first, because they were waiting to see how we were going to treat them, since most of our congregation works at the school. Now everyone is very comfortable with everyone else, and it's not an issue.

Our church has about 200-250 on an average Sunday morning. We have 4 families that homeschool. One of those is about to graduate their youngest in a year or two. Another family graduated their youngest a year ago.
The church is supportive of homeschoolers.

We're the only homeschool family in our church. Nobody makes a big issue about it, but I think a couple of people are uncomfortable with our decision.

Um yeah, almost too well (don't get me wrong, I am pro home schooling), to the point that sometimes I feel sorry for those who choose NOT to home school.

Yes, they meet every other Wednsday for a class day. It is put together by the parents, though, and not church sponsored.

Well, I am the second of four girls, and I was home schooled in grades 11 and 12th and my younger sister was home schooled from grades 8-12(my youngest sister is severely disabled), and considering this was a decision made by both of my parents, and the pastor is my dad, I would say, my pastor is pro home schooling. In fact there are times when I think he's pushed it a little too much. Although he projects a happy medium, now.

There are only two active homeschooling families in our church. There was another one, but I think their children have graduated.
I think people are pretty accepting of homeschoolers but obviously most send their kids to public or christian schools. The Pastor is doesn't seem to take any kind of stance. Probably whatever works for each family.

Since we are moving, I do not know. Our "old' church had several (pretty big church). The church that we visited here has some. Not sure how many yet.

That describes our church and Pastor pretty well. He seems to neither push it nor stand up against it. Our church runs it's own Christian School, so a lot of member send their kids there. But we have at least a few HSers, and perhaps more I don't know about.
The Pastor's wife is a Public schoolteacher, and I've never asked her about her feelings.

My congregtation has a k-12 school and I never really thought about how many parents in my church homeschool. But my community surprised me when I found out that in my city, we have something like 90 homeschool families and a really huge support network for them. It just amazed me. But I always had one question that maybe one of you could answer.

I guess I have it pretty good. We have about 43 families with school-age children in our church, and 18 of them homeschool, including all three pastor's families.

We've always been in very small churches with just a handful of families. At one time, we had a church were everyone was a h.schooler. It was really nice! Now, due to family situations, every single one of them (except us) has put their kids in public school.
Now, at this church, we are the only ones. I am pretty sure people are supportive of it, but ignorant. So, we don't talk about it too much unless it is brought up. Yesterday, we corrected someone about where we get our books. This person was at our house and noticed the books all over the table. They assumed we got them from the public school. We were able to tell them that we order christian material.

For us, this is the least amount of homeschoolers we've ever been around. We not only came from a church that had a lot of homeschoolers, but the suburb we lived in has the highest concentration of homeschoolers per capita in Texas. So needless to say homeschooling was old hat to us when we moved here. But to these people up here in northwest Colorado it was still something very suspect. I'm happy to say that I've seen that view change dramatically over the last 10+ years.

We have a handful of homeschooling families in our church, which also runs a K-8 school.
Our pastors are pro parenting, which includes the God given right to raise your children as you see fit. I was a little nervous when the church opened the school a few years ago, because we were fairly new to the church and I was afraid I might get some pressure to enroll the kids. It didn't happen. The only thing that was ever said to me, by the assistant principal who also runs the children's program at church, was that if there was ever anything she could help me with she would be happy to do so.
In general, the leadership of the church leaves issues of education alone. If and when the pastor does mention it, he usually says, "Whether your kids go to ps or private school or homeschool . . . " which is nice.

There are two other families besides us, and those are both large families (4 or more kids). We also have several of the public school teachers in our congregation, and according to them, they are pro homeschooling and have proven it by expressing views that convey an understanding of homeschooling and of other schooling options. They've also been very helpful to the homeschooling families. 
Oh, and two of the school secretaries are also church members. Those are the ones who really know what's going on. LOL!!
