This series about 12 men and women during ww 2 was very thought provoking.
They said there was 14 million men and women in the armed forces during ww 2. I believe
the USA population was 100 million at that time. 400,000 americans were killed during
ww 2. The air force in europe sufferred 33 % casualities. What sacrifice.
The amount of ships built, aircraft, tanks, etc. was staggering. Also the war ships built during
ww2 served long after wards. They were not just thrown together. At the BOSTON NAVY YARD
in the late 1960s we repaired and overhauled numerous essex class carriers, destroyers, etc
that were built during ww 2.

Is that the series where they found lost (unknown) color footage of WW2 and have now digitally enhanced it and such? If so, I heard about it last week, but haven't watched it yet. I hope to catch it in the future when I can sit down and enjoy it.

I really enjoyed the series.

I was amazed all over again at what all those young men and women went through and accomplished.

They definitely were the Greatest Generation!
