I thought that there would be an OP about this show. It's my Favorite! But I couldn't find it. Anyway....because of a family situation I missed a show (either the 2nd or 3rd) this season. Then the next show had Meredith in the hospital but never said why. This week, she was released to go home, but again no reference as to why she was in the hospital. Plus, Izzy has run away from home for some reason. Why? What's the explanation or does any one know? It didn't seem like her husband knows. What about her cancer treatments? I saw the first show where George died and everyone went through their own way of grieving. And I know about the two hospitals merging, except I don't know why they did. Can someone get me up to date, please? Thanks.

Meredith's Dad needed a liver transplant and she was a match. She refused to do it first but she did it for Lexie and that's why she was in the hospital plus....Ellen Pompeo was pregnant in real life when they were filming the first few episodes so you'd notice that she's always away. Izzy was fired from the hospital because she's unable to perform her task because of her illness. Someone also noted that she can't be a patient and be a doctor at the same time in the same hospital. She decided to run away from it all including leaving Alex. 'have to admit that this season's Grey's anatomy has been a lot better than the previous last season or two.

Last week was interesting. I don't think it was fair to fire the doctor, as chaotic as it was that night. Both hospitals were doing sub-par financially - that's why they merged. It's really dog-eat-dog as they pare down the number of doctors.

Yes...last Thursday's episode was very interesting. Mercy Grace was still in the process of laying off people and it gave a reason to let her go. But that episode did hit home since the same thing did happen to my father that led him to a stroke and eventually his death and unfortunately the hospital was not in chaos. It does make you think on how many times does it happen since the ficitional hospital laid off some people ...people that they worked with and trusted through the years and then bring some people that they have not built a relationship yet. It was a very good episode.

Thanks everyone. So.....did Meredith's dad live through the liver transplant? In real life they can take just a part of a liver and it will regenerate itself, won't it? Grey's Anatomy writers are very diligent about sticking to the truth of real life situations, health problems, and medical procedures. I felt sorry for the nurse who got fired. That show sure makes a person wonder how busy real hospitals are and how many people die unnecessarily because of small mistake like not looking down someone's throat. Probably more than we'll ever know. Derek was kinda blaming Richard for the mistake that was made that night in a round about way because it was his idea for the merger of the two hospitals to save his own job. I saw the first show where the board members approached Derek to be the hospital chief and Derek covered Richard's back and then Richard turned on Derek. I always liked Richard until then. I love Grey's Anatomy and thought I had my DVR programmed to record every show, but didn't and I was so upset. I hope that the writers let Amanda have a little bit of romance in her life. I have been waiting for Derek's and Meredith's "post-it-note wedding" to fall through. That couldn't have been a legal marriage. Surely Izzy won't stay away forever. But I don't like Alex and never have. He sure looks the part of a man that has his attitude on the show. And I miss George!!
