I like The Old Schoolhouse. You might be able to get a sample online version.

We get the Old School House, too. I like it. I was also thinking of subscribing to Answers in Genesis. We also get some things through HSLDA.

I used to get one called Homeschooling Today. I think I let it run out, but it was a great magazine.

I read The Old Schoolhouse, Homeschool Education Magazine, and Homeschooling Today. I know these have websites, you might check out. Also some libraries carry homeschool magazines, mine carries Homeschool Education.

I just started getting the Homeschool Enrichment magazine. I really like it. I think it is one of those magazines that you get a free one to try out.

Check your local library, sometimes they have homeschool magazines so you can see if you would enjoy it before ordering it.

we get the old schoolhouse, answers, and practical homeschooling. The best is the old schoolhouse and they do an online version which is good if cost is an issue.

Actually, I do get a few I forgot about: HSLDA Court Report and the BJUPress Home School Helper.

I also used to get an unschooling magazine (can't remember the name-editor Donna Paola?) but I let that one run out too.

I eventually dropped each subscriptions because it became clear to me that my family's way of doing school/life would not be purist enough for the writers of either magazine.

If there were ever a home schooling magazine that was really only about the practice of home schooling instead of just this way or that way of home schooling, I might be interested.

Kids Discover was the best magazine for children I ever subscribed to, and it was a mainstay of our home school lifestyle throughout the elementary and middle school years.

Family Fun would have to be the best magazine subscription for the whole family I received. We put lots of their ideas and projects to use.

Other magazines I subscribe to b]for my home school are:

The Economist- world events
Reason- political Libertarian
National Review- political Conservative/Republican
Psychology Today- hasn't run out yet, though my student's interest in psychology has (LOL!)
Chess Life, Golf Digest- hubby and son
Voice of the Martyrs- world missions
Charisma- national Christian scene for the charismatic persuasions
Enjoying Everyday Life- Christian living Joyce Meyer ministries
and various newsletters from Crossworld, Frontiers Mission, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Compassion International, and others.

At other times we subscribed to:

US News and World Report
Time
Highlights for Children
American Girl
Brio
Sports Illustrated for Kids
Ranger Rick
and a different sports magazine for boys from Focus on the Family.

There are probably others I have forgotten.
