Are you doing the cooking or going by family or friends for Thanksgiving.

I am cooking for 22 people and my house is totally not ready.

But yet, here I am on my computer posting while I should be doing other things.

What are you doing?

putting off making the pumpkin pies and pumpkin bread...

the rest of the meal (except the sweet potatoes- which I'll also have to do) will be at my sister-in-law's house cooked by her and other family members. =)

If I get an invite I will go there to eat dinner. If not I will go out to eat of find something around the house to eat. I'm making no bid deal about it & either way will be OK.

I cook every year, except a couple of years ago, when we went to a Hotel for dinner. Big mistake...no leftovers!

22 people, Mrs. Tracy? I'm impressed! Ours will be small this year, there are only going to be 6 of us and no, I'm not really ready either...I've been sick for the last week. But, no worries, I work best under pressure!!

I was hoping to serve dinner on the patio in the Gazebo this year...but it may rain. If so, I'll move it inside.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! We are truly blessed.

I am going to my sister's so she will be doing most of the main cooking. I am, however, taking a few deserts, a salad, and drinks.

Most of it. My parents are coming here and it's also DS's birthday. I am making the turkey, stuffing/dressing, corn, gravy, mashed potatoes, and birthday cake.

My mom has made the crescent rolls that she will bring and bake here plus green bean casserole and pie for her and dad.

We are going to my sister's home. She lives about 250 miles away. So we will stay with her and I'll be helping with the meal. Which is actually harder in some sense because I'll have the work to do but not the tools to do it with, KWIM? I always wonder 'how' others get their food prepared when I can't seem to locate the needed items for prep.

Anyway, we're taking some food, of course. My husband (& I) are on gluten free diets so I'll take supplies so that some of the food is gluten free. I have a duckling and will make a pumpkin dessert among other things. I hope everyone here has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

My son and I are going to go to a Hockey game on Thanksgiving. I have no family anywhere near and don't have time to travel. Not sure yet what we will do for food, I'm NOT going back to the grocery store to buy sandwich meats so will have to come up with something from whats in the house.

Hey crescent rolls! Thanks for reminding me. My sis loves those! Gotta pick some up

Yeah I'm cooking too. Turkey stuffing, green, beans, sweet potatoes. I'm gonna have 10 people over. My parents, brother & sis. Aunt Uncle & 2 cousins and 2 of DH auntst & uncle. Including the 4 of us it'll be quite a gathering.

We're also putting up the pre-lit tree either tonight or tommorow morning so we're gonna have a tree trimming after the food and kick of the season !

Ok, we are down to 18 people. If I can lose two more, I won't need to add an extra table in the dining room. But so far, I have made the sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, fought with my still frozen bird, and am getting ready to make a cake. I was going to have my exchange son help me, but his friends are here so there goes that plan.

Ok, house is clean, cake is made, so all I have to do is tomorrow, stuff my very stubborn bird, warm the ham and put the plates out and set up the serving table. I can't believe it is not even 10:00 and I am done.

Im cooking ot all. Husband wanted to go to his familes get together but i dont feel like traveling .. one hour to get to the ferry, who knows how long to wait in the ferry line during the holiday, 20 minute ferry ride not counting loading and unloading, drive to familys house 20 minitus and then back the same thing... Staying at Home.. PRICELESS!
We have been dealing with my dad who has been having strokes and dementia becase of the strkes, he is failry young.. we have had to put him in adult care and have struggled with finances and dads diminishing personality for a few months now... God has been faithfull. Im cooking a ton of food just for us and whoever may stop in. thats what we are doing.
