quote:

Are you experiencing disturbing, election-related thoughts?

When you close your eyes at night, do the colors of CNN's "magic" electoral map dance in your head like red and blue sugarplums?

When you get in your car and hear the same talk-radio personalities saying the same things they said the last time you got in the car, do you wonder what day it is?

Are you getting carpal tunnel syndrome from hitting "refresh" at political websites and blogs?

.... Are you at once totally sick of election news and insatiably hungry for more? As a result, are you sick of yourself?

...so asks Meghan Daum in an http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-daum13-2008sep13,0,2268400.column.

Note: this is a neutral discussion thread as people of all political strips are subject to this addiction.....

I am a political junkie, but my problem is that being a third party guy, I find the attack ads going back and forth laughable. Glen Beck a few years back did a parody of attack ads and made up a whole fake election between two candidates, Flemlowski and Velveeta. The fake attack ads were hysterical.

Albert Einstein said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. That convinces me that our nation is insane because we continually elect republicans and democrats expecting change and get none.
